Aizawl observes 125th Birth Anniversary of Rev Liankhaia

A national seminar on the 125th birth anniversary of Rev Liangkhaia, one of the first Mizo priests and an eminent Mizo historian, was held here on Friday.

Giving rich tributes to Liangkhaia, the speakers said he was not only a church leader and a historian, but a priest having successfully advocated the Mizo traditional way of Christian worship.

Liangkhaia (1884—1979) wrote 46 books and hundreds of articles in the newspapers and journals during his lifetime and his works on the origin, tradition and culture of the Mizos is used as textbooks in local institutions.
