Adarsh case hearing posted to Sept. 17

August 31, 2012 12:10 am | Updated November 17, 2021 04:49 am IST - MUMBAI:

A special CBI court on Thursday posted the hearing of the Adarsh Housing Society case for further arguments to September 17.

The court has still to take cognisance of the charge sheet against 13 accused, including the former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan. The order on cognisance was deferred as the matter of the CBI’s jurisdiction in investigating the case was pending with the Bombay High Court.

Adding to the delay, a Division Bench of the Bombay High Court comprising Justices S. A. Bobde and R. G. Ketkar on Tuesday recused itself from hearing public interest litigation petitions in the case. Mr. Chavan had sought to quash the case against him.
