Acid attack on Dalit in Bihar

A group of people poured acid in the eyes of a Dalit youth in Supaul district of Bihar on Wednesday, according to a police complaint.

Ranjit Sada, 22, said that as he was walking along a road, talking on his mobile phone, a few people suddenly shouted at him, accusing him of theft. They pinned him down and poured acid in the eyes, Manish Kumar, Station House Officer of the Kishanpur station, told The Hindu , quoting the youth .

The police have arrested Ramanand Yadav and Bikas Yadav on the charge of attempt to murder and under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. They are looking for another person.
