A day after some Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) workers attacked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office in Mumbai, AAP leader Anjali Damania held a press conference in Nagpur refuting the allegations made by NCP leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar against the party's recent power scam expose.
"Mr. Pawar had called our allegations baseless and false. He said that we had not substantiated out complaints with evidence. But we want to place on record that the Nagpur police have registered a First Information Report against six washeries involved in the Rs 22,000-crore power scam in the state," Ms. Damania told The Hindu from Nagpur.
"We have found out that Mahagenco (Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited) had deliberately introduced inefficiencies to bring down production, so that they could bring down the operations and buy power from outside private companies. This would get them kickbacks," she said.
Ms. Damania claimed to have more evidence against Mr. Pawar and his portfolio. "We are to hold a press event in Mumbai on Monday to show more proof in this power scam," she said.
