On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, a month-long celebration “Chalk Walk 2015” was launched across the nation on Saturday.

The event, being organised by STIR Education (School and teachers innovating for results), is by and for the teachers to celebrate their profession of honesty, hard work and humility. The month-long celebration beginning on September 5 will culminate in a two-day event on World Teachers’ Day on October 5 in Lucknow and October 6 in New Delhi respectively. During the event, oath-taking ceremonies for teachers will be organised in schools across India.

STIR Education is creating a “teacher changemaker movement”, where teachers from different parts of the country are forming local networks to work together and come up with innovative solutions to improve learning outcomes of children. The Teacher Changemaker Movement has 12,000 active teachers across 12 States, who will participate in the Chalk Walk.
