November 11, 2010 02:08 am | Updated 02:08 am IST - KOLKATA:

Subhash Bhattacharya, the lawyer of Calcutta High Court judge Soumitra Sen, said here on Wednesday that the findings of the three-member committee set up by the Rajya Sabha Chairman, Hamid Ansari, will be contested in Parliament.

The committee has found the allegations of misappropriation of funds against Justice Sen to be true. “We will contest the findings in Parliament. According to the law, there will be a joint session and a debate on the issue,” Mr. Bhattacharya told TheHindu .

“The question of Justice Sen resigning does not arise,” he added.

The report that was tabled in Parliament says the charges against Justice Sen of misappropriation of large sums of money and making false statements have been “duly proved.”
