PANAJI: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday urged voters not to trust pre-poll surveys on television news channels and ensure that anti-BJP votes are not split in the Assembly elections on February 4.

“When our government was formed in 2013 in Delhi, TV channels said AAP will get two seats. We eventually got 28 seats. In 2015, TV channels said AAP will be 18 seats, and we got 67 seats,” Mr. Kejriwal said at a public meeting at Benaulim Assembly constituency in South Goa.

“Don’t let the votes split. Congress people will also come to you, but there is nothing left of the Congress in Goa,” he said, adding that people should vote for AAP to express their ire against the ruling BJP. Mr. Kejriwal is in Goa for a two-day election visit. He is expected to address four public rallies.

He blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the demonetisation.
