The Vishva Hindu Parishad’s international working president, Pravin Togadia on Friday claimed that Hindu community in India continues to be “unsafe and underdeveloped” despite being a majority.
“There is a need for majority protection commission in India rather than a minority protection commission as the majority here feels unsafe and scared,” Mr. Togadia said at a rally of VHP officer bearers and workers here.
“Our temples are being destroyed and the governments are citing court orders. I want to ask whether the law is only for the Hindus? Why don’t you dare to remove loudspeakers from Masjids who flout guidelines issued by the Supreme Court? You make an issue on the dead body of one Muslim but you don’t care if the dead bodies of Hindus pile up,” Mr. Togadia said.
He also demanded that houses of the Hindus in Kashmir valley — “which were snatched from them” — be given back.
Citing statistics, the VHP leader claimed that 17 crore Hindus sleep hungry everyday in India.
“One forth of our population is illiterate. Basic health and the medical profession are out of the reach of middle class now. There are 15 crore unemployed Hindu youth in this country. Out of 17 crore farmers in this country, only six crores have a roof to live under. The farmers are committing suicide and business community is being harassed,” he alleged and claimed that his organisation would work towards in achieving the “lost glory” of Hindus.
He demanded that school fees of 10 crore Hindu children be waived off, “just as the government does for 95 lakh Muslim children.” He also said that his organisation was committed to protect cows.
