January 30, 2016 01:21 am | Updated September 23, 2016 04:02 am IST - RAIPUR:

A 21-year-old gang-rape victim from Bhilai town of Chhattisgarh killed herself on Thursday and left a suicide note in which she blamed her lawyer and the judge of “harassment” and named the three who raped her. She was repeatedly raped by two police constables and a doctor at a government hospital in Bhilai between June 2014 and January 2015.

In January last year, the victim was found in a “distraught” condition at a temple by the police which led to the arrest of Dr. Gautam Pandit and constables Saurabh Bhakta and Chandraprakash Pande. In the suicide note, the victim wrote that she lost hope of getting justice. “ I am committing suicide because of Gautam Pandit, Saurabh Bhakta and Chandraprakash Pande,” she wrote.

The victim’s brother also claimed that they were facing “pressure” to withdraw the case.
