9 injured in Pulwama grenade attack

Nine people, five of them police personnel, were injured on Saturday in a grenade attack by suspected militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said.

Some unidentified ultras hurled a grenade on a police patrol at Muran Chowk in Pulwama town, 32-km from here, at around 4 pm, they said.

Five policemen were among nine people injured, the officials said.

The area was immediately cordoned off and the injured were rushed to hospital, the officials said adding a hunt was on to nab the militants involved in the attack.

No outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
