Security personnel unearthed 65 kg of landmine from two separate places in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-hit Dantewada district on Friday.

“A joint patrol team of police and CRPF jawans recovered 50 kg of explosives along national highway stretch between Gorkha and Bheji areas,” SP Amresh Mishra said.

Acting on a tip-off, the security forces unearthed 15 kg of landmine along the highway stretch between Chintalnar and Mukran, he said, adding that efforts are on to defuse the landmine.

Earlier on May 10, police had unearthed 75 kg of landmine from two places in the district.

On April 6, Maoists killed 75 CRPF men and a state policeman in Chintalnar forest in the district.
