5.2-magnitute quake hits Andaman Islands

A slight intensity earthquake of 5.2-magnitude hit off Andaman Islands late last night, Meteorological Department has said.

But there were no immediate reports of damage or tsunami warning.

The quake struck at the depth of 27 kilometres south of Port Blair at a place situated at 9.9° N Latitude and 91.8° E Longitude in the Andaman sea at around 23.53 hours, the Met department said.

The Andaman area witnesses frequent earthquakes.
