4 die as fire breaks out at textile mill

In a second industrial accident here within two days, four workers were killed and a dozen injured when a blaze occurred in a textile mill in the early hours of Thursday.

“The fire broke out at Vinayak company, also known as Puja Fabrics at Dombivali at 3.30 a.m,” Dileep Gunda, fire officer, told The Hindu . “We rescued 18 persons. But two of the four, who lost their lives, were probably trapped inside the mill. The other two jumped from the top floor.”

On Tuesday night, hydrogen sulphide leak at a Tarapur industrial plant led to the death of four workers.
