32 held for Maoist-related offences

The police on Tuesday arrested 32 villagers from different parts of Bijapur district of Bastar for Maoist-related offences.

“All 32 have cases registered against them for different Maoist-related crimes including murder, arson, and loot. They were arrested from different parts of the district. A special operation was launched to nab them,” Bijapur Superintendent of Police (SP) K.L. Dhruw told The Hindu .

“Many of these warrants were issued before I took charge as Bijapur SP. We have decided to focus on all pending Maoist related cases and nab all the absconders,” the SP added.
