30 patients with cholera symptoms hospitalised in Medinipur

Thirty people including children with cholera symptoms were admitted to a primary health centre and nearby medical camps at Tatar village in West Medinipur district, a medical officer said on Monday.

The affected people, who used to drink water from ‘Sajal Dhara’ water system working through pipes and tube wells, were admitted to Ramkrishnapur Primary Health Centre and adjacent medical camps since Saturday night, district’s Chief Medical Officer (Health) Girish Chandra Bera said. They are suspected to be suffering from cholera, Mr.Bera said. However, their blood samples are being tested, he said.
