Five arms of the 15th Century, believed to have been used by tribal royals, were on Sunday recovered from a cave in Morigaon district of Assam.

Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) executive member Khagen Bordoloi said the five weapons were recovered by villagers from a cave at Tetelia Hill near Jagiroad-Morigaon PWD road.

The recovered items were two spares and three swords. The items were believed to be used by Tetelia’s Tiwa tribe king during the 15th century, Mr. Bordoloi said.

The TAC has contacted the Archaeological Survey of India for handing over the items. — PTI
