An FIR has been lodged against 15 women, including BJP workers, who allegedly staged a protest against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister for exempting PK from entertainment tax, police said on Saturday.

An FIR has been lodged last night against BJP workers Neelam Gupta, Shobha Rani, Ram Pyari, Leelawati, Savitri and 10 to 12 others for burning effigy of the chief minister during protest in Chandausi area against exempting PK from entertainment tax, Station House Officer Girish Chaudhary said.

Police said that they have been charged with disturbing public order.

The Uttar Pradesh government had on December 31 decided to exempt the movie from entertainment tax.

“Chief Minister Akilesh Yadav has watched the movie and has directed that such films should be exempted from the entertainment tax,” a senior officer had said.

The film starring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma has drawn the wrath of Hindu outfits which alleged that it had hurt religious sentiments.
