A small batch of 129 pilgrims on Monday left the Jammu base camp for the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir.

A convoy of four vehicles carrying the 39th batch of 129 devotees left the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar around 4:45 a.m. to pay obeisance at the holy shrine, police said.

The batch, comprising 94 men, 3 women and 32 sadhus, was on its way to twin base camps of Pahalagam and Baltal, they added.

With Monday’s batch, a total of 51,112 pilgrims have left the Jammu base camp for Amarnath so far.

Meanwhile, a batch of 316 pilgrims in seven vehicles also left the Bhagwati Nagar camp for the Buddha Amarnath.
