120 students taken ill after eating hostel food in Pune

About 120 students of the Symbiosis Management Institute near here were hospitalised on Wednesday with symptoms of food poisoning.

The students, who had eaten at the hostel mess on Tuesday night, took ill this morning and were rushed to two hospitals in the vicinity where they were being treated, Rajeev Yerawadekar, Dean, Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences, said.

“None of the admitted students is in a serious condition”, he said, adding the cause of food poisoning was being investigated by officials.
