Ten persons were killed and eight others injured in two separate road mishaps in the district, police said on Saturday.

Seven persons, including three women, were killed when a sand-laden truck in which they were travelling overturned in Mokhada taluka late last evening, they said.

The mishap took place when the truck driver lost control over the steering, the police said, adding five other occupants were injured.

In the second accident, a dumper ran over a group of construction labourers sleeping on a pavement in Balkum area on Friday. Three of them were killed and as many injured, police added.
