Nupur Talwar (centre) being taken to jail after a CBI court in Ghaziabad rejected her bail plea on Monday.

The order on the bail application of dentist Nupur Talwar, an accused in the 2008 double murder case of her daughter Aarushi and a domestic help, was reserved by a court here on Tuesday after hearing the arguments from both sides.

Additional District Judge S Lal reserved the order on the bail application of Nupur, who was sent to jail on Monday, after hearing arguments of her counsel as well as CBI, which opposed any relief to her.

Nupur’s lawyer claimed that there was no evidence against her and she had undergone scientific tests like lie detection and polygraphy and nothing was found against her.

Besides, finger prints found in the crime scene did not match with Nupur and since her husband and co—accused Rajesh Talwar was given bail, she should also be given bail on parity basis as she is a woman, the lawyer submitted.

However, CBI’s counsel opposed the bail plea, saying Rajesh Talwar was not on regular bail and that his bail was under review. So, there is no question of giving parity, he said.

14-year-old Aarushi and Talwars’ domestic help Hemraj were murdered in May 2008.
