Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday deprecated the BJP and other opposition parties for staging a walkout during the budget presentation over the price rise issue saying it was wrong as it undermines Parliament’s image in the minds of the people.
“This is wrong. These practices have lowered the dignity of parliament in minds of the general public,” he told reporters on his way back from three-day visit to Saudi Arabia.
If your objective is that people should take Parliament’s functioning seriously then what the BJP and the opposition have done is exactly the opposite, he said.
