Union Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran said on Thursday that he would be ready to face the consequences if the charges against him were proved.
Speaking to journalists on arrival from Delhi at the Chennai airport, Mr. Maran strongly denied news reports that a number allotted to his residence was used as a virtual telephone exchange with 323 lines for the commercial use of Sun TV. He said the reports were a kind of “systematic, planned campaign started with the intention of defaming him, and his party.”
Mr. Maran showed a letter from BSNL in 2009, which said only one line was allotted to his residence.

The CBI report says that the 323 lines were in the name of the GM BSNL. The letter cited by Maran can also be true as an answer to the question "How many lines are there in the name of Maran at his residence?"
