Only beginner’s level Sanskrit to be taught: Centre

November 28, 2014 02:45 am | Updated April 09, 2016 11:53 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Only beginner’s level Sanskrit would be taught in Classes 6 to 8 and academic evaluations would be done by the schools themselves and not by a School Board or external examiners, an affidavit filed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and its Deputy Chairman before the Supreme Court on Thursday said.

Noting that the “initiative was taken with the interests of the students in mind,” it said the decision to replace German would “not prejudice the preparations of annual internal examinations for the present academic session.”
