An Indian labourer was injured as two back to back bomb blasts took place at Phuntsholing on the India-Bhutan border on Monday evening.
The blasts took place in front of a gate separating the two countries, injuring Sanjay Sharma, said Sugata Sen, SP, Jalpaiguri district, adding that Mr. Sharma has been admitted to a hospital.
The other explosion occurred near a petrol pump in which no casualty was reported, he said.
The border has been sealed on the Indian side while the gate, where the blast took place, has been closed by the Bhutanese administration, he said, adding that it was not known who was behind the blasts.
The explosions occurred at a time when West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was touring the northern part of the State close to the border.
At present, there is free movement of people between Jaigaon on the Indian side and Phuntsholing.
