Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today blamed disruptive elements for instigating innocent youth to attack security forces leading to loss of lives.
At the same time, he made it clear that his government will not allow misuse of power by security forces or the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
“Such acts will not go unpunished”, Mr. Omar said.
Expressing grief over the deaths of youths during clashes with security forces, he said it was unfortunate that some “disruptive elements” want to keep the pot boiling by instigating innocent youth to attack security forces which result in loss of precious human lives.
Hitting out at the separatists, Mr. Omar said some “elements are instigating the youth to shed their blood to satiate their vested interests while their own children are living a luxurious life in and outside the country“.
“I believe instead of shedding blood, youth must sweat it out to solve their problems”, he said adding the anti-peace elements resort to frequent strike calls and the people are fed up with their nefarious designs and want peace.
The Chief Minister made a fervent appeal to the people of the city and elders in particular to advise the children not to tread this path which leads to death and destruction.
He noted that to keep their cauldron boiling, the disruptive elements play with the sentiments and emotions of the innocent youth.
Referring to recent killing of teenager Javid Ahmad Malla, Omar told reporters that the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, is investigating the matter and as soon as the report is received, any body found guilty would be brought to justice.
He said that anybody found involved in the killing of two other youths -Tufail Ahmad Matoo and Rafiq Ahmad Bangroo - will be punished as per the law of the land.
