National Conference (NC) working president and former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah was detained for two hours at New York airport on Monday.

According to Mr. Abdullah, who issued a series of tweets, he was scheduled to speak at an event organised by the New York University. “…but I almost wish I’d stayed at home instead. Ah well, that's two hours well & truly wasted!!,” tweeted Mr. Abdullah.

“Another ‘random’ secondary immigration check upon landing in the US. Thrice in three visits, the randomness is growing tiresome now,” he complained.

Mr. Abdullah claimed he spent two hours in a holding area. “This happens every time. Unlike @iamsrk I don't even catch Pokemon to pass the time,” he jibed.
