Life was affected in Tripura on Monday by a dawn-to-dusk bandh called by the National Students Union of India and the Opposition Congress to protest the alleged attack on some NSUI activists on Saturday.

Schools, colleges and shops remained closed and vehicles did not ply. Banks and financial institutions were also closed and attendance in government offices was thin.

No untoward incident was reported, the police said.

At least six NSUI activists, including president Vicky Prasad, were injured at the Maharaja Bir Bikram College here, when activists of Students Federation of India, the students wing of the CPI(M), allegedly attacked them.

The injured were admitted to the Gobinda Ballav Pant Hospital here.
