A genuine train passenger can now book railway retiring rooms online in a bid to reduce the hassle they face while booking them at the stations.

To begin with IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited) has provided the additional facility for booking retiring rooms at the Mumbai CST station.

Any passenger with a confirmed or a RAC ticket can use the electronic system to book rooms or beds in dormitories for all those travelling on the same ticket at either the originating station or destination station.

The booking could be made for a minimum of 12 hours to a maximum of 48 hours through net banking on credit or debit cards. Passengers will have to carry the electronically generated confirmation slips with them.

The service charge for booking these rooms for upto 24 hours is Rs. 20 and Rs. 40 for upto 48 hours, while for booking dormitory beds will be Rs. 10 for the first 24 hours and Rs. 20 for 48 hours.
