No word yet from Sharif

Pakistan is yet to convey its decision on Prime Minister Sharif’s participation in Narendra Modi’s swearing-in on May 26.

Pakistan Foreign Office spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam said on Thursday that a decision would be taken later in the day, but there was no word thereafter.

President Rajapaksa, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and the leaders of the Maldives and Bhutan have confirmed participation. Bangladesh will be represented by Speaker Shirin Chaudhury, as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be in Japan when Mr. Modi is sworn in.

Mauritius Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam has also confirmed his participation.
