North India continued to reel under heat wave on Wednesday as the temperature stayed above 40 degree Celsius at some places. Barmer recorded 43 degree Celsius.

Jaisalmer, Chittorgarh, Jodhpur and Churu recorded the maximum temperature of 41.7, 41.5, 41.3 and 41.2 degrees respectively, while Kota and Ajmer registered 40.4 and 39.5 degrees, according to the Meteorological Department.

The temperature stayed above normal in Punjab and Haryana, where Hisar was the hottest, registering 40.7 degree.
