Trinamool Congress on Monday ruled out any action against Dinesh Trivedi, who resigned as Railway Minister, saying that he has been asked to attend the parliamentary party meeting which party chief Mamata Banerjee is expected to attend.
“No. He has been asked to attend the Parliamentary Party meeting,” Trinamool leader Sudip Bandhopadhyay told reporters here. He was asked whether Trinamool will take any action against Mr. Trivedi.
He said the Prime Minister’s Office had called Mr. Trivedi on Sunday and asked him to tender his resignation.
Asked when would Mr. Banerjee’s nominee Mukul Roy take over as Railway Minister, he said the decision will be taken at the Parliamentary Party meeting.
61-year-old Trivedi resigned last night as Railway Minister ending his defiance and bringing to a close five-day drama after he incurred the wrath of Trinamool Congress for hiking passenger fares in the Railway Budget.
On the question of Trinamool pressing on amendments on the NCTC issue in the President’s address, Bandhopahdhyay said the Prime Minister in his reply to the motion is likely to make an announcement that no further action on the proposed organisation will take place before April 16 when meeting of Chief Ministers will be held in Delhi.
Asked whether his party will rock the UPA government, he said he has already made it clear that Trinamool Congress would like to see the government complete its full five year term.

Mamtaji is correct.Mr Dinesh Trivedi cannot go against party policy in Railway Budget. And also he cannot hide the proposals from Mamta.
Loyalty ot party is first as has been practice in all parties esp in Congress also. Here Mr trivedi surely overstepped limits ,if he does not agree he could have told Mamta thar much and got himself relieved.
UPA has set a very bad precedent by succumbing to the pressure of TMC. I
do not understand how Shri PM ji can discard Mr. Trivedi after
appreciating his proposal of hike in fares at first instance. This will
discourage every honest and innovative political/administrative officer
to think beyond the dotted lines. This decision along with the vodafone
related amendment have let every citizen of this great country down...I
am feeling very small today !
It is sad that Mr. Trivedi has to go. I fear we will see a 'rollback' of passenger fares even though everyone knows that the Railways need more money. I wonder if the Unions will protest in favour of a fare hike?
