New Military Secretary takes charge

Lt. Gen. G. M. Nair took over as Military Secretary at the Army Headquarters here on Monday. He succeeds Lt. Gen. Avadhesh Prakash, who is facing disciplinary action for his alleged involvement in the Sukna land case.

Commissioned in the counter-insurgency operations hardened 1\11 Gorkha Rifles, Gen. Nair commanded the battalion in Assam and Manipur, an infantry brigade in the Western Sector during Operation Parakram and a mountain division in Operation Rakshak in Jammu and Kashmir.
