Anti graft crusader Anna Hazare stated on Friday that he had never advocated violence, alleging a conspiracy to defame him by making him sound like a criminal. Mr Hazare had reportedly stated that when the tolerance to suffer corruption runs out, slapping is the only option that a common man, suffering from injustice, has left.

“I am now being projected as a big criminal without thinking or understanding what I have said. This is unfortunate,” Mr Hazare said in a new blog entry on Friday.

M Hazare clarified that after watching the Hindi film ‘Gali Gali me Chor’ based on corruption, he had told reporters, “When a man's power of tolerance runs out, then whoever is in front of you, if a slap is given, then the brain is put back in place. That is the only road open now.”

Mr Hazare reiterated that his agitation Ramlila agitation was non violent.

Elaborating on his plan to tour the entire country before the 2014 elections, Mr Hazare expressed faith in the people. “When I go for tour then people will understand that such allegations will not do anything to hurt my image. Corruption is an important issue for the people of this counry,” he said.
