‘NDA rule has added new dimensions to development’

Union Science and Technology Minister Harsh Vardhan here on Saturday said that the BJP-led NDA government at the centre has added new dimensions to the concept of development in the country.

Addressing a seminar on the occasion of completion of two years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the Centre, Mr. Vardhan said the government was “ever-ready for the uplift of each and every section in society.” The government would set new records in growth and development in the coming days, he said.

The BJP leader briefed party workers in ‘Deep Kamal’, the party headquarters, along with senior MP Bhagat Singh Koshiyari and party’s national secretary Mahendra Singh. “In the past 69 years, the country has seen the concrete concept of development taking shape only during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government and, now, during the present Narendra Modi government,” Mr. Vardhan said.

“It is just the beginning and the people are gaining confidence day by day in this government,” he said, urging select party cadres to take the policies of the current government to the masses and make them aware of the “negative propaganda” by the Opposition.

‘Strong world leader’

Pointing out that it was the same U.S. that had refused Visa to Mr. Modi which is now rolling the red carpet every time the Prime Minister visited that country, Mr. Vardhan said this showed that Mr. Modi has come up as “a strong world leader.”

Mr. Koshiyari said the BJP works under “an exclusive ideology” for the respect and dignity of the country. “Our only preference is progress and advancement of public interest and not pursuance of negative politics like the Opposition,” he said.

Referring to the “downbeat politics” of the Congress, Mr. Koshiyari said the party had only been throwing spanner in the developmental works undertaken by the Modi government.
