June 19, 2012 11:56 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 11:50 pm IST - Bhandara/Nagpur:

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Union Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel on Tuesday said the NCP would take disciplinary action against the former Lok Sabha Speaker, P.A. Sangma, if he decided to contest the upcoming presidential poll in defiance of party discipline.

Speaking to reporters at an event here, Mr. Patel said: “Our party supports the UPA candidate, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, and now the Shiv Sena has also supported him. So there is no point in Mr. Sangma contesting.”
