Naxals kill Lloyds VP, two others in Gadchiroli

Naxals killed three persons including a Vice President of Lloyds near Nender village in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra on Thursday. According to Gadchiroli police PRO Dharmendra Joshi, Jaspal Dhillon, VP, Lloyds, a sub-contractor A. P. Mallikarjun Reddy and Patil Raju Sadmake were killed by the Naxals in Nender village under Gatta Gram Panchayat in Etapalli tehsil at around 12.30 am on Thursday.

Police teams are yet to reach the spot. Forces are proceeding cautiously fearing ambush, said some police sources.

The area where the killings took place, has been witnessing some tension due to the proposed iron ore mining unit of JSW Ispat.

Almost all the villages in this belt have made their opposition to the project very clear and Naxals have backed the villagers.
