Naxals killed a farmer in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra on Saturday. Kishor Bhimrao Atram of Kamalapur village in Aheri tehsil of Gadchiroli was kidnapped by militants three days ago. On Saturday, they killed him and left his body near the village, according to a press statement issued by the Superintendent of Police (SP), Gadchiroli.

According to some locals, Naxals suspected Kishor Atram to be a police informer.

Search operations have been intensified in this area after the incident.

Meanwhile, the Gadchiroli police have arrested one alleged Naxal cadre from Etapalli tehsil of the district.

According to the police, the name of the arrested Naxal cadre is Anil Ranu Gavande, and he is a resident of Morawahi village in Etapalli tehsil of Gadchiroli.
