Taking a serious view of the ongoing rampant deforestation, the National Green Tribunal on Tuesday banned cutting of trees across the country. The Green Bench issued direction to 'restrain any person, company, authority to carry out cutting of trees from forests anywhere in the country without obtaining environmental clearance from MoEF or SEIAA and license from competent authorities'.
