Narayan Rane’s son held for rioting

Nitesh Rane, 31, son of Maharashtra Industries Minister Narayan Rane, was arrested along with eight others by the Pernem police in north Goa on Tuesday evening for rioting and assault.

The police said he ransacked the Dhargal toll booth in north Goa and assaulted the staff after his car was stopped there. He has been charged with vandalising public property, the police said. All the arrested are expected to be produced before the Mapusa Judicial Magistrate First Class Court on Wednesday for remand.
