BSP MLA Noor Salim and BJP MLA Suresh Rana, who were arrested last Saturday for allegedly making provocative speeches, have been granted bail on Tuesday.

Chief Judicial Magistrate K.P. Singh has allowed the bail application of Mr. Salim, while another court granted bail to Mr. Rana.

Both were directed to furnish a surety bond of Rs. 20,000.

They will be released after completing the formalities.

In another case BJP MLA Sangeet Som has withdrawn his bail application.

A local court on September 18 issued non-bailable arrest warrants against a BSP MP, two MLAs each of BJP and BSP and 11 other political and community leaders for allegedly inciting communal violence that has claimed the lives of 49 people.
