Muslim groups seek justice

December 07, 2012 12:32 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:54 pm IST - Jaipur:

Muslim groups held a prayer meeting and a protest rally here on Thursday to mark the 20th anniversary of the demolition of the Babri masjid.

The Rajasthan Muslim Forum (RMF), a united front of leading Muslim organisations in the State, moved a resolution expressing surprise and disappointment that perpetrators of the violence unleashed in the aftermath of the demolition were still at large.

“Demolition of the Babri mosque was the second major terrorist event of independent India after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi,” said Engineer Mohd. Salim, National Secretary of the Jama’at-e-Islami Hind.

Leaders from several Muslim organisations called for strict punishment to those named in the Liberhan Commission report.
