Mohanty still out of sight

Efforts to contact B.B. Mohanty, father of the convicted rapist Bittihotra Mohanty, failed for the second day Sunday. The house of the retired Indian Police Service officer in Cuttack remained empty, but for a caretaker who kept telling journalists that the family was away.

Meanwhile, sources in the Odisha police said they had nothing whatsoever to do with the cases involving Bitti, who was arrested in Kannur. It was not immediately clear whether the local police had taken note of pointers to forgery in Bitti’s B. Tech. certificate that has come to light.
