Stating that only the Central Parliamentary Board of the BJP can take a decision on who will be the face of the party’s campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, party president Rajnath Singh said here on Monday that the popularity of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is undeniable.

Mr. Singh similarly fended off questions about whether veteran leader L. K. Advani will be the party’s Prime Ministerial candidate, saying that it will be decided by the Central Parliamentary Board.

When asked about reports that Mr. Advani would no longer be involved in the party’s decision making, Mr. Singh said that they were “baseless and unfounded.”
