Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday wished Congress president Sonia Gandhi the best of health and at the same time said she should have been taken to the hospital in a well-equipped ambulance.

“Glad to know that Sonia ji’s health is fine. Wishing her the best of health in future,” Mr. Modi tweeted a few hours after the Congress president was discharged from the hospital.

Commenting on the medical facility in the Parliament, Mr. Modi said on his micro-blogging site, “concerned that basic medical emergency procedures were not used. Would have been better if wheel chair or stretcher were used in Parliament.”

However, he further said, “considering her health, Sonia ji should have been taken to hospital in a well-equipped ambulance. Still, doctors are best judges.”

67-year-old Ms. Gandhi left the Lok Sabha while the voting was underway on Monday on various amendments moved by the Opposition on Food Security Bill, and was rushed to AIIMS.

She spent about five hours in the hospital and was discharged after her check-up was completed.
