BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Monday took three vows: “I will work to fulfil the mandate that people give me; I will never to do anything for myself; and I will do nothing with a bad intention.” At a function to release the BJP’s manifesto, Mr. Modi said the document can be summed up in two words: “good governance and development.”

“The manifesto is not just an election ritual; it is the party’s disha (direction), lakshya (aim) and pratibadhta (commitment),” he said.
