Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be campaigning in the Uttar Pradesh elections, Bharatiya Janata Party president Nitin Gadkari told media persons here Friday.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the International Conference on Cooperatives, Mr. Gadkari said the party would soon fix a schedule for Mr. Modi's campaigning in Uttar Pradesh.

Referring to Priyanka Gandhi’s campaigning in Rae Bareli and the reported political aspirations of her husband Robert Vadra, Mr. Gadkari said the Congress offered no scope for the emergence of any alternative leadership from outside as if it was the private property of the Gandhi-Nehru family.

He also ruled out any possibility of the BJP entering into an alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) or the Samajwadi Party (SP) if it failed to secure a majority in Uttar Pradesh.

Regarding the Karnataka “porngate”, the BJP president said he had spoken to Karnataka Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda on the matter.

“The party is conducting an enquiry into the incident and only after that any further action would be taken,” he said about the three BJP MLAs caught watching porn in the Karnataka assembly.

BJP should had made this decision earlier...Mr. Modi needs to spearhead BJP if it need to come to power post 2014...the party needs to present him as leader(as people are still confused about real PM candidate from BJP side)...this revival should start form UP itself if BJP want to grab power next time.

BJP performed very well in Bihar without the services of Modi. It is not certain whether his presence will turn the fortunes of the BJP in UP.Perhaps,he may; as the communal divide in UP appears to be sharper in some areas. But, what holds a greater promise for the party is the counter-productive potential of the decision to apportion the existing OBC quota by including backward muslims in it.

I think, the BJP is on the danger of finishing fourth in the UP elections. Finishing fourth in UP election will badly demoralize the confidence of BJP members and supporters. This will also have negative impact on the chances of BJP returning to central Government in 2014. So in my opinion, Narendra Modi should immediately start campaigning for BJP in Uttar Pradesh. Narendra Modi and Uma Bharti pair can do some last moment wonders for BJP as both belong to back castes. We should not also not forget that UP has more than 7 crore OBC population and which is quite unhappy with the Congress and the SP due to recent episode of muslim reservations.

It is good that the BJP finally put Modi in the front seat...the voters should take into considerations that Modi is the stalwart of development and will always be...
