Modi to launch scheme for unity; seeks suggestions

November 30, 2015 02:38 am | Updated 02:38 am IST - New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday he would launch an ‘Ek Bharat, Shresht Bharat’ scheme aimed at strengthening the country’s unity, and invited suggestions in this regard on the government portal MyGov.in.

Made in his Mann Ki Baat address, the proposal came at a time when there are protests over “growing intolerance” in the country.

He said suggestions should be for the kind of scheme required, the kind of programme under it and what the government, society and the civil society should do.
