Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that the Centre was planning to invite ideas from the public for developing a mobile app for his office. The government would work with the global technology giant Google for selecting the best of the ideas, and the teams would be sent to the U.S.

At a Nasscom event, he said: “Times are changing. I-ways or information ways are as important as highways... We will launch a competition through mygov.in to seek ideas for the PMO mobile app. The second part will be to develop the entire software. I would like my department to be helped with technology.”

At the event marking the completion of the 25th year of Nasscom, Mr. Modi called upon the IT industry to meet the global challenge of cyber security.
