Modi may attend Sangh’s meet on education

February 10, 2016 01:19 am | Updated 01:19 am IST - NEW DELHI:

About 700 school principals from the RSS’ education wing, Vidya Bharti, will converge here from February 11 to 14 to take part in a seminar on education that is likely to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani on February 12.

Sources in the RSS said the national education policy — which was in the works — was likely to be discussed during the four-day meet.

The meet will also brainstorm on how to reach out to families of children studying in Vidya Bharti schools so as to bring them closer to the Sangh’s social vision.

Organisations related to the RSS have taken interest in education for long now, and would want their vision — often criticised as “saffronisation” — to reform education when the BJP is in power.
